Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Behind Me

Okay, Leann, here is for you. Closer but still not finished. I am beginning to struggle with it. I am not sure if that is coming from the sick person in me or the true critic. But I have not given up. I am still working.

Today has been the best day for me since last Friday evening.which is not saying an awful lot considering I have been sick. Yesterday...back at school...was probably the most frustrating day I have had in a long, long time. I still had a horrid headache but forced myself to go to school because progress report grades were due and Open House was that evening then to learn that I had to prepare laptops for online testing by Thursday and had to get it all together. Without going into a major whining session I will say my day went from bad to worse and by the end of this terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day I was ready to move to Australia!

After that the next day HAD to be better. Well, it was! Software is loaded. Test day was postponed to March 20th (after I finished loading the software), kids were okay in class, I got free pizza at lunch for attending a meeting and my head finally stopped hurting.

Thank goodness those sort of days are seldom.

I have a feeling there are bad days in Australia, too! Then you wouldn't have family and friends nearby to help you through it. Believe me, I've moved enough to know. (I love that book, by the way, because it is so true to life!) There are few things worse than having to deal with hordes of people, or kids, and also get an impossible amount accomplished while you have a terrible headache and are sick! I used to have nauseating migraines while teaching 1st and 2nd grade. I don't know how I made it through. I can remember having to leave the room to throw up every few minutes. I had them way too often to just go home, so I toughed it out. It's so nice being home where, if I feel bad, I can just lay down. The strange thing is, I'm rarely sick now that I'm not working outside the home! I'm not exposed to all those germs and the stress hasn't weakened my immune system. Okay, Alexander, tomorrow will be another day. (Oh, that's Scarlett, isn't it?)

  2. Those type of days just seem to make us want to run to the hills; but I think they remind us of how great things are when all goes well. Glad you are feeling better - Spring Break is near!!

    I love the picture!

  3. It's a good thing that we don't have all good days and bad days. Couldn't appreciate the good days without the bad. A few thoughts:

    1) The good thing about the bad is they are less frequent that the good.

    2) The bad days do not last forever; they have to come to an end sometime.

    3) Bad days come one at a time.

    4) When they do end...mmaaaaaann what a relief it is. It sure does feel good. It is then that I go home, take an early shower, get into some comfy clothes and just separate myself from all negative influences. TV, radio, telephone are all off (well...maybe not the TV. Can't watch a good movie without the TV). The newspaper is forgotten. The doorbell is not answered. Just enjoy the end of another day. It always ends better than it went. Might go outside and enjoy the sunset. Watch sun do down and the heavens slowly appear. Few things in nature refresh me more than the show we get everynight. Kind of makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger than I am.
