Friday we are finishing up our second week!
Second football game!
Second pep rally!
Second project!
Students are now going to complete a drawing combining Zentangle design and cartooning to create a sketch book cover which they will be using in their art classes.
The project has a good bit of flexibility built into it yet it can be used to teach several concepts such as: focal point, design and composition and we can even touch on a little bit of color theory and application of color, "painting" with washable markers.

My Sketch Book Cover (8 1/2" x 11") |
This is my demonstration piece I have been working on during the classes to model to my students. I will use this for my Sketch Book. ( I am not sure I am finished but if not, it is nearly finished. )
*And yes, that is another cartoon of myself again. My students think it looks like me. Hum-m!
I am still having fun! Have a Happy Paint Party Friday.

Thanks for visiting Darla - I have the Totally Tangled book too and there's great inspiration there. One of the most helpful resources for how-to's and a wealth of patterns is www.tanglepatterns.com There's page after page of them. Also, if you check out www.iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com she offers a weekly challenge. But if you click on her weekly challenges tab she's got the whole year of challenges by weekly slide shows. There's some amazing talent and ideas and new tangles there. I love looking through those for concentrated inspiration. Hope your students find these sites helpful too.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...that is so great looking. I love the body language & outfit!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! Love the combination of Zentangles and a cartoon self-portrait! I've been wanting my students to create Zentangles, too. The idea for a sketch book cover is great!
ReplyDeleteThank you, too, for joining my art blog hop and posting a button on your site!
Glad I found your blog through the hop...
I am your newest follower! :)
Wishing you all the best,
Mary
